“Lièvre” (“Hare”)
Becquerel was another member of the Animalier movement. Both Susse Frères and Etling (the editor of this piece) offered him edition contracts. Rather than being in motion, this hare seems to be caught in the headlights of oncoming cars!
The Columbia Three-Track Tricycle cost $160 in 1883 and was the first to offer a “differential drive” gear that permitted both wheels to be driven equally and for ease of rounding corners. The picture of the Three-Track Tricycle is taken at Lodge corner Oulton Park Cheshire England. The white building on the right is the Lodge.
