“Rodeo”
American cowboys were a popular motif with the French public, represented here by this exquisitely wrought piece. Note the minute details: this piece would have required a great deal of skill and labor to produce. This design was also reproduced in the UK by Lejeune.
The Columbia Three-Track Tricycle cost $160 in 1883 and was the first to offer a “differential drive” gear that permitted both wheels to be driven equally and for ease of rounding corners.
